The Pipe

Okay, so there's this thing called the Bureau of Land Management. They don't seem like very nice people.

See, okay. A long time ago, there was this dumb tunnel that a man named Leon Bly built to let water outta Eagle Lake. Then, in the 1930s, I think it was, it was decided that the tunnel should be filled in cuz the lake levels were getting really fucking low. So low that it was gonna turn into a big old mud puddle.

Now, I'm not sure when this happened, but someone (probably someone who's really stupid) decided to put a nice little pipe in the tunnel to, once again, let water out. I think it's called the "bypass pipe" or something to that effect. That way, a bunch of stupid rich-prick ranchers could benefit from all this water draining onto their land. (And they don't even have any water rights. It's like, huh?)

Now the lake is again at those low levels of the 1930s (or is it worse)? I was there during the summer, and there were hardly any birds on the water. I saw some dead fish, though. Great.

But here's the thing. The stupid fucking Bureau of Land Management is refusing to close the damn pipe! Apparently someone (I'm not sure who) did a study that showed that the amount of water being let outta the lake was "not significant." So the dumb BLM decided that the pipe should stay open, even though the lake is DYING!!!!!!!!

Here's my thing.

First of all, ever since that damn pipe got installed, the lake levels have been receding and receding continuously each year. I don't believe in coincidences, man. It's the damn pipe.

Second of all, okay, let's say it's "not significant." Who fucking cares??????? You have a whole lake that's fucking DYING!!!! You shouldn't even let out a single drop of water!!!!! Not a single drop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But, you know my theory. I think those BLM folks are gettin' paid off. Someone's puttin' money in their pockets, cuz I can't imagine anybody allowing this horrible thing to happen without there being some incentive.

Or, I dunno. Maybe they're just stupid.

There's a lake in California, sort of in the Northern parts, not too far from Reno. It's big and beautiful and filled with all these wonderful birds. Ooops, wait, well, I mean, it used to be. Now it's turning into a big mudhole, and I'm very sad. I thought I'd start a nice little blog to advocate for our nice lake cuz here's the thing.

The thing is there are a bunch of greedy assholes and corrupt political folks that are destroying this beautiful ecosystem so they can make a little money. (I'll explain how they're doing it later). I mean, it's like, thanks, guys. Wow, thanks.

So, as a result, the businesses that depend on vacationers and fishermen are losing tons of money. The property values of all the houses on the lake have gone way, wayyyy, down. So, it's like, all the greedy, rich powers-that-be folks are not only killing a beautiful lake and all the animals that live in it, but they're ruining a bunch of people's livelihoods and messing up people's investments, too. It all sucks so very much that I can't stand it.

I dunno if anybody'll read this here blog, but I have to do something about this horrible tragedy. I'm sick of sitting around, being sad. Maybe if enough people find out about this, we can do something about it and not let all these greedy assholes (I'll tell you who they are later) get away with murder. Yeah, that sounds good.
